Mr. Wolfgang Walter Horn

After completing his legal studies and passing the Major State Examination with distinction, Mr. Horn founded his independent law office in Hamburg in March 1981. In 2003, he additionally completed a training as a mediator at the German Lawyers’ Academy, and from 2015 to 2022 he also worked as a Dutch advocaat in Amsterdam.

Since his retirement, he still is of counsel available to our law office and its clients in cross-border legal matters.

His activities focus on the areas of damage and liability law, traffic law (including classic car law) and employment law for employers.

Born in 1953 in rural southern Germany Mr. Horn grew up with horses from childhood on and was a jumping rider and horse owner up to several years ago. In more than 4 decades as a lawyer he became one of the best-known specialists in equine law, and therefore he is a highly qualified contact in equestrian legal affairs in Germany. In cross border equestrian cases he closely works together with Dr. Paul Bavelaar, who as an active jumping rider and horse owner has specialized in Dutch equine law.

Mr. Horn is member of renowned legal and equestrian organizations, such as the Law and Tax Commission of the German-Dutch Chamber of Commerce, the Deutsche Akademie für Verkehrswissenschaft e.V. and the F.F.P. Verein zur Förderung der Forschung im Pferdesport e.V., of which he is a member of the board.
